We have just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at Brantfell Cottage and from our booking everything about our stay was flawless.

Excellent communication from the lovely hosts, Victoria & Tom, who clearly have thought of everything to give their guests the best stay.

Our arrival was seamless with everything as described; directions, parking and key safe.
The location of the cottage was great, just a five minute walk into beautiful Bowness, in a very peaceful street up a short hill with lovely surroundings.
We were provided with a brilliant information pack with everything we needed to know and some great recommendations before we arrived and a paper copy of this was also in the cottage. The WiFi was super fast and easy to connect to and use throughout our stay.

On arriving at the beautiful cottage we were welcomed with a lovely basket of treats which was such a nice touch. The beautiful kitchen had everything you could need, all crockery, utensils, cleaning and laundry items, even salt and pepper and a shopping bag for picking up supplies near by!

Along with the cottage throughout, you could tell this was decorated with love and an eye for the finest little luxury details. The fixtures and fittings were of beautiful quality and everything was immaculately clean. The hive heating system was easy to use and kept the cottage at a perfect temperature as and when we needed to use it.

Through to the living room with comfy sofas, beautiful lamps and tasteful artwork, it made everything so welcoming and a lovely place to enjoy the morning with a coffee or after a long walk. The outlook onto the gorgeous garden was wonderful with spectacular views and lovely touches.

Upstairs the bedrooms were spacious, beautiful furnished and comfortable, again with the most gorgeous little details. The bed was so comfortable with the softest bedding, we had a great sleep and there was also ample space for all our things.

The bathroom had a gorgeous rainfall shower and excellent lighting, plenty of extra loo roll and lovely hand soap and soft towels.

The cottage was immaculately clean throughout, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. It had everything you could want and more for a break away in Bowness.

Needless to say we didn’t want to leave and could not recommend Brantfell Cottage enough, we already can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. We had a great stay, a short walk into the centre of Bowness, the walk back is uphill but it wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be (even with a pram!) and was only really steep in 2 places. The property was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. The guidebook was useful (especially with being sent electronically the week before) and had plenty of recommendations. The hamper full of tasty treats was a very welcome surprise. Would love to stay again and would definitely recommend.

A lovely summer holiday despite the rubbish weather .

We have stayed at Branfell cottage for several years till covid times, we love the semi-remote location of this cottage, the big hill being a necessary final workout each day after eating out, cream teas, and ice creams... Very peaceful location. The downstairs changes are amazing, kitchen had a much needed upgrade, the removal of the stair walls provides for a much brighter space, the front room too is much more pleasant to hang around in. Bathroom more modernly equipped too.

A lovely cottage beautifully presented. The cottage was very comfortable and a short walk from town with an ample supply of bars and restaurants (albeit a steep walk back to the cottage). We had a very enjoyable week in The Lakes from this central location. Would certainly recommend this cottage very highly.

Brilliant Easter Holiday stay. Perfect for our family of 4. Spotlessly clean and in an amazing location. Took a lot of recommendations from the Welcome Book for days out and restaurants. Great that it was sent electronically before our stay so we could plan ahead- never had anything like this before.Really appreciated the local treats hamper and the private car parking !

We have stayed in some lovely cottages over the years but this has topped them all. What a wonderful place to stay! Loved the style and comfort and so very well equipped, everything we could possibly need and all of an excellent standard. Brantfell cottage is in a great location, so peaceful and tucked away. A perfect hidden little gem, a credit to the owners. I can’t say enough good things, we didn’t want to leave!

Perfect place for a Romantic Winter Break. The cottage is modern , cosy and very clean .
Location was perfect for us , very quiet and peaceful, almost hidden away but 5 mins walk from the village . Great to have parking , we didn’t use the car at all during our stay .

Thank you for the thoughtful Welcome Hamper , my husband loved the coffee. Christmas decorations a nice touch , got us in the Festive spirit.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Everything we needed was provided, abundance of loo rolls and dishwasher tablets etc which was much appreciated. As was the Welcome Hamper and Welcome Information- particularly details of the gentler route back from the Village .
Spotlessly clean , stylish modern decor and a perfect peaceful location.
Bowness itself is the Heart of the Lakes with plenty to see and do.
We can’t wait to return to Brantfell in the Spring - already booked .

I think we said the word, “Wow!” so many times when enjoying this stunning cottage. From the moment you open the door you know you’re in for a treat. Every single detail has been lovingly and carefully thought through and all to the highest standard. The quality, care and attention that Victoria and Tom have shared with their guests is second to none. The location is perfect for lovely restaurants, shops and Windemere attractions but also a wander in the woods and a secret rope swing! We visited Brockhole and the zoo for two activity packed days out then cosied up in the cottage with home cooked meals in the spotless kitchen. The welcome hamper and guide book were perfect additions to enjoying our stay and we will be shouting about this gorgeous place from the top of every mountain in the Lakes! Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

The cottage is spotlessly clean, very well finished, the interior decor is just lovely! It's been renovated to a very high standard.
And the location is perfect. We will definitely be returning and will recommend to everyone.

Beautifully decorated & clean cottage with suntrap garden. Great to have parking for 2 cars. Only 5 minutes walk to centre of bowness with Dales Way on the doorstep. Welcome hamper was a lovely touch. We had a great long weekend and will return soon.

Just returned from a mid-week stay at Brantfell Cottage and we loved every minute!

Check-in was so easy (just a lockbox) and Victoria & Tom left a hamper with some local treats which was a lovely touch.

The house had everything we needed and the kitchen especially was fab. On sunny days, the garden got sun all afternoon which made for some lovely evenings!

It was only a 5 minute walk from Bowness Bay but still very quiet at night; location was absolutely perfect.

We’d recommend this place to anyone :)

We stayed in Brantfell last year prior to the refurbishment and it has made a lovely cottage even more appealing. It is stylish and modern and very clean. I had kitchen envy all week. The beds are comfortable with a great view from the main bedroom. I would definitely recommend a holiday here and I hope to return in the future.

A lovely little cottage, recently refurbished to a high standard, the kitchen had everything you are likely to need, although there are so many places to eat just down the road in Bowness that I didn’t actually cook anything. The garden at the back is a sun trap in the afternoon and very peaceful. Having our own parking space was great.

This feels nothing like a Holiday Let and I mean that as a compliment! No mismatch furniture, no laminated notices, no unloved corners. Just a beautifully decorated , well equipped Cottage.
It is obvious that the owners use this property themselves and care for it.

3 nights wasn’t enough to discover everything on the doorstep and that is good enough reason to visit again.

We loved it , the kids loved it . A great half term break in a beautiful, well equipped cottage.The detailed Welcome book really helped us to make the most of our week , plan things to do and book restaurants. Our boys particularly enjoyed seeing the “ hairy cows” in the field opposite, and playing on the “ secret” rope swing.

Perfect. First time we have stayed in Bowness without worrying about where we will get parked. Kitchen had everything we needed to make evening meals and a quick walk to some super restaurants ( recommended Hyltons ) when we wanted somebody else to cook.
Very comfortable king sized bed and a powerful shower.Spotlessly clean.
We wouldn’t share if this was ours !! But happy to pretend it was for the week.

Wow! What a lovely cottage , fabulously decorated but with a homely feel. We were lucky enough to have some warm may weather and make good use of the garden. Thanks for all the helpful information, directions and recommendations. We can’t wait to come back.

We stayed for a week and had a fantastic time. The cottage is lovely, and in a great location, only five minutes from the shops, restaurants and the lake. The two parking spaces are a real plus too!
